One of the hardest things to deal with after Faith’s death was the decision about what to do about her upcoming birthday. We asked some other parents who lost children what they do and almost were asking permission if it’s ok to celebrate. Our final decision…We’re having a party, it’s not about her death, her birthday is a celebration of her life.

Not your typical party, more of an open house. Stop by for as long as you want or just to say hi. At 7PM we are going to have a small memorial in lieu of birthday cake and candles if the weather agrees. No more details, you will need to be here to see.
“Gifts of Faith”
During the summer Sue contacted someone at Faith’s school and asked if there was a child of a family who might need some extra help with school supplies this year. Ideally it should be a girl. She was able to find a little girl entering kindergarten who was in just that situation. Sue ended up buying everything from underwear & socks to a weeks worth of outfits along with backpack, lunch bag and snacks for this girl. It helped her and her family, but even more it helped us fill the void of not being able to do that for Faith this year.
If you wish you may bring an unwrapped gift or donation that we will use to buy gifts for children who would otherwise not get any this Christmas. We are thinking of gifts appropriate for a 9-year-old girl or anything you might have that you want to re-gift. It’s totally optional, we are starting this tradition for our family as a way of paying forward all the generosity and love that was shown to us and will do so as long as we are capable.
That is absolutely wonderful ! You have a very special family that god sent Faith to you because your family is so special. You are a wonderful example of what people should be like. may god bless you and your family
I love the idea. We would have loved to be there but we promised Colin that we would visit him at Michigan State and go to a football game that weekend. I think of Faith often and can see her big smile and hear her big enthusiastic voice.
